Subject: Beware Lazair community- attn George

Lazair.com still up boys and Burning up banwidth !!

Les-
You will notice especially that George has totally avoided answering
even one of my questions about the details of his site.

I know and he knows he has no idea how it works or why and the first
time it hiccups he wont have the slightest idea how to fix it.
This is some heavy duty corporate stuff requiring dedicated programming
staff availability. Besides when it starts gathering some messages
like the near couple of thousand here along with the embedded photos
,his program will slow to a snails pace if not on a
$200-$300 a month dedicated server.

I would hate to again see people lured by promise of greener grass
get left out in the cold with nothing but more loss of ideas
and shared knowlege at the hands of George and partners.

George, tell me I'm wrong. Find us another group useing the
same forum software on a shared host with a few thousand messages
that we can visit. If you are willing to pay a few hundred a month
out of your pocket then never mind. ... or did you want us to pay
for it ? ? ?

Tell us how you are going to do backups and what kind of archives
we will all have for the future. etc.

Like I said, very snazzy stuff as long as it works and you dont have
to wait on it or pay for it ..... until it breaks.

Let us hear from you George please.

Scott

Ha Ha Ha!!! Oh boy, Scotty and Les completely missed the boat on this one. First of all, our administrator of this great Lazair.com site certainly knows I had nothing to do with putting this exceptional site together. Scott was right on one account...I would have no idea what to do to put together a site like this.

Their site has nearly dried up. On the contrary, this site has flurished and is the top site...so what do you say about that Scott and Les?

George Curtis
(not a clue about how to creat web sites)

George,

I have no idea why Scott does not post on this site. He is more than welcome to share his ideas over here as well. The problem is that he likes to be on control and he likes to be able to moderate things and be "the man" so it seems. (maybe he was a neglected child ? or still is ? )
Regardless, Yes it funny, the Lazair.com site has done well and has a amazing amount of traffic to it although the posting does not seem to be as active of lately. I run many other sites and have really neglected to keep Lazair.com updated. We do seem to have a great amout of knowledge here and the database is full of Lazair info that has been sent in. I think alot would be amazed at what we will put up one day.

I am sure Dale Kramer reads this and if he does please email me at web@lazair.com .

All the input is welcome here from all points for discussion. This site was built originally for catering to all the Lazair nuts to be able to help one another out.
I have had notes about shorty and his antics but he is a valuable contributor and I keep him on a noose. The wealth of knowledge from the guys like Chappy, Shorty, Shannon and George as well as all others is welcome anytime. We would even welcome Scott Perkins but not as a moderator.

Also if anyone would like to share ideas for Lazair or Ultralight in General, please feel free to contact us. Some of you may have notcied that I created a forum for Shorty http://kitfox.lazair.com/ IT is getting alot of trafic now just generated from the Search Engines.

We have no fees for Lazair.com nor do we take donations. Bandwidth is cheap and our few adds that we have on site do help tp cover costs. Lazair.com gets hundreds of thousands of hits a month and burns usualy up to 15 to 20 gig a month of bandwidth. Any sites that would like to link in to us, feel free to contact us. web@lazair.com
Our Google adds on site should usually point to aircraft realted advertizers and the Amazon link will take you to Amazon to buy anything from CD's to Tools.
If anyone wants any other advertizers put up, let us know.

Maybe Im not up on the gossip, but what is all the ranting about?

This is an absolutely great resource, and I hope it never goes away for any reason.

It also has a huge wealth of information available.

I think it would be good to take some of the threads and make them into complete articles about accomplishing various tasks.

Not sure how we would go about that, maybe cut and paste all the threads together as an article.

I also get digests from the yahoo groups emailed to me daily so I skim through them for any interesting or usefull info.

Apparently in this movie they used a mock-up of a fully enclosed 2 seat cockpit/fuselage taken from a real flying example. It also appears that a RC model was used.
