After a engine failure last year and bent wings they thought flying was over for this lazair. The owners brought it over here and it got re-furbished with
-new D- cells, ribs, 1.7 oz fabric, fresh paint, and many replaced parts incliding the actual fuel lines that were cracked and ROTTED...... New main tires and tubes and nose wheel tubes as well.

So far looks good ........ and flys great

Glad you enjoyed it .

New D cells now available makes it possible to get many lazairs back into the air again.

Several more Lazairs on the go now .....

All D cells are built to ELITE and 2 seater specs....

for any skeptics out there, i was fortunate enough to get a tour of the new lazair factory in shorty's shop - i will concur that he's got amazing jigs and tools and methods, anything you'd need to build all new wings. If I were in ontario i'd probably order a set. with these wings, and george curtis' wide gear factory, you could build a series III almost brand new from a wrecked series I,II, or III.

Tyler, Thanks for the Kind words.

Lazair D cells are extremely strong when built right. and also very light.

Got more interest for More Dcells it looks like too for later this year but won't be doing them for a few months yet -- more like a slow time in Jan feb. 2008....

If you got a old bent lazair and want to revive it -- well it can be done.

That 2 seat lazair is a testament that a crunched up lazair can be revived. I have seen guys that take them to scrap yard after accidents not wanting to spend any thing on it or "thinking " that is cannot be fixed. Well I doubt you could build a 2 seater with engines from scratch for less than 10k plus MANY MANY hours...... figuring out how to do it plus actual build time. If you could get a bent 2 seater with engines you could likely get it done for you with rebuilt with new wings for far less than 10 k .

Food for thought .....

Nice! It sure is good to see another Lazair 2 flying, especially since the owner thought that it was done for......nice save Shorty.
