when i flew on floats here in OZ i had to register the floats as a boat and hold a speedboat license carry a paddle, floatation gear, anchor. flares ect. is it the same in US and canada?

Are you serious, your lazair has an anchor......LOL

Hmmmm...if they want to play that game then if you really are a boat they should be able to pull you over in their patrol boat.....

You should ask them to do that some time.....I somehow think that their boat just isnt going to leave the surface and be able to intercept you as easily as they think.

In the US Ultralights under FAR 103 are not regulated, so basically we can do what we want as long as we are not over populated areas.
So dont land on top of anyone.

If we cause a problem, we can be sued up the yazoo though.

To answer your question.... NO
not to my knowledge.
