This is directed at John Nagy... but if anyone else has something
to contribute... please chime in.
I just got off the phone with a Dow sales rep after a short
conversation concerning the procurement of Tedlar PVF film. I
represented myself as a grower in need of a sufficient amount of
Tedlar for my greenhouses. The advise I was given concerning
the type of Tedlar was excellent! They certainly know their
product. One of the recommendations was TUT20BG3 for its
strength, durability, UV resistance, longivity, etc. So far so good...
but what I was told in the very next sentence shocked me. A
minimum purchase was one full roll of film at a cost exceeding
$80,000 US!!! Wow! I managed to croak out if this material
could be had in smaller quantities but was politely told "Not by
Dupont". I was given Richmond Aircraft Products in Norwalk, CA
as a possible small lot purchase source. In contacting
Richmond I was told they will sell small lots but they do not
handle the particular film I'm needing. Bummer!
So... this is a long winded way of asking just how & where you
were able to purchase the Tedlar for your fellow LazairFlyers?
My need is not for a Lazair... but for an older ultralight called an
Invader MKlllB that I'm building from plans. I'm actually not ready
to cover but that bridge will come soon enough. Any help would
be greatly appreciated!
