Canadian Ultralight Permit Passenger Rating is coming into affect December 1/05. Transport Canada has sent a letter to flight schools to advise when the new rating comes into affect allowing them to get ready.

Don't get too excited though. This won't apply to your 2 seat Lazair. A Basic Ultralight does not qualify to carry passengers. To make use of this you will have to be flying an Advanced Ultralight or some other aircraft that is rated for passengers. The ultralight weight an stall speed limits will still govern what you can fly, with or with out a passenger. Planes like the Chalenger, if properly maintained to meet manufacturers requirements and registered as Advanced will qualify.
