Of course I agree George, the worn rivets are a big deal. Though in the year that I worked on the plane, I did have that aileron off.

If I had seen that kind of wear when I had the aileron off, I would have addressed the problem then. It's kind of a mystery because I can't imagine not noticing that much wear when I had the aileron off. So unless all that wear happened in transit from Winslow to Oklahoma City, it had to of been there before and I just didn't see it.
Next time I will write out a preflight list that will include a good look at the aileron horns and the condition of the rivets.
I've expressed an interest in another ultralight that's around the Central Oklahoma territory and may have another project in the next few days.
