here are some photos of an old Victa 160cc lawn mower. These have been built in one form or another for over 60 years. This model is from the early seventies. it finally packed it in last week. we have bought the latest model to replace it and i am going to rebuild the old one. this type has powered ultralights before mainly the Skycraft Scout with a chain redrive. about the only change to do is a pumper carb and a better exhaust.

here is a shot of the motor. the round unit on the cylinder head is a poppet type decompressor. It closes on compression and a tube to the intake manifold assists with some vacume. it cannot come apart and fall into the cylinder

the other end with just points magneto type ign. aftermarket cdi kits available.
the decompressor gave the engine it's sales pitch. ZIP START.
I'll have to wack it on the scales. if you don't mind trading a few cc's for availability, these will work well for us in OZ.
