I can't comment as to whether there were factory skiis - the niagara area where the lazair was conceived had lots of snow though....

I grew up in north bay with the Nipissing Lazairheads, and each lazair out there (about 10) had a different set of skiis. My old man went through about 5 designs before settling on his final design.

There are really only a few concerns with ski design:
- width of ski
- mounting to wheel or axle
- method of preventing the ski from tipping during flight

arts skiis look good, they look heavy though - a lot of that structure is unnecessary. I like the fact that they look kinda skinny, but it depends on what you're ski flying on - powder or hard pack/ice. my old man flew mainly off frozen lakes and skidoo trails, not fresh powder.

i don't know what arts runners are made of? mine are teflon, big sheet teflon.

i just want to buy them if they are orginal options/skiis=fun to have.

one more question, the floats,is it the same for one/two seater?.

Ola,

A friend of mine has a set of original skis for a 2 seater, made by a guy in Quebec, they are huge compared to the series 3's. the one is in good shape, just dirty and the other needs a new plastic bottom. If you are interested, contact Pat Martin at, 1-519-832-6389. or me at d.george@sympatico.ca

Did you ever get your covering and props from John?
