Two (2) lazair 2-seater projects for sale?

Postby JPXman » Tue Nov 08, 2011 3:43 am

Hi Everyone

Time to become a realist - chances of me rebuilding my 2-seaters are pretty slim in the next few years. Anybody want to take on the projects?

can come with engines ready to go, props, spare engines, floats, tedlar, tapes, or as more or as little as you want.

make an offer on one or both! both of them are 99% complete, you might have to make a few new tubes and repair wing ribs before you cover, but all major components are there and in good shape. count on replacing a lot of bolts and rod ends, new fuel tanks and all new fuel and control lines. neither of them are crashed damaged, one wing has a few ribs broken.

can deliver for cost of return trip fuel! drop me a line and we can chat.

Well, i'd say with JPX engines, as is, and airframe, $2500 each. then if you want some extras we can talk about them. There were only about 50 2-seaters made so they do have that certain rare quality :) i have one tedlar covering kit i can sell with one airframe for extra, but i don't have two kits. i have enough of the "good" tape to cover the second, i just don't have the tedlar, but if it was a deal breaker i'm sure i could scrounge up another roll to sell for a premium (read, i have a second roll but its my own spare roll from m my series III EC).

and when i say new tubes made, just the straight ones. I know the fuselage cages are in good shape but one is missing a vertical straight tube - i'd have to dig them out of storage and take some pics if someone is serious.

I can tune up a set of engines on my test stand with the sale as well for a bit of money. it costs about $100 for parts for each engine for the carb, pumps, lines etc.

PS: for the americans reading this, uscgairdale on this board rebuilt a two-seater and had it N-numbered as experimental. he had to work closely with his local FAA people but he got the job done. pretty cheap twin time!

For those on the fence here's a deal:

- I will deliver to Winnipeg or similar distance from Edmonton, if you buy both, for $5,000 total. I'll even sell you the trailer so you can just hook up and carry on. The trailer is nice and big, albeit draggy but holds both at the same time.
