Just a little frustrated trying to source aluminum for cap
strips.
One of the reasons is my location.
Aircraft Spruce here in Canada is striclkly pick up.
I have a couple of leads...
Airparts might be best to Sault Saint Marie, MI...
Or I may take down my eaves trough and use it.
drh ;)

Dave,

I used Carlson Aircraft to make my cap strips and they sourced the material for me. (also used them for the sharp trailing edge material) I couldn't locate my original invoice, but I think they were about $4 US ea when I ordered qty 20 a few years ago. I went with slightly heavier material...0.032 rather than the 0.025 2024-T3. New ribs using this material, along with the sharp trailing edge has made for a much more rigid assembly...just what I was looking for on the 2-seater. Here is their contact info...

Also...here is a copy of the diagram I sent them...it is Microsoft Power Point...let me know if you need it in another format. I've rebuilt one wing using these cap strips, and they came out great...but have not test flown yet.
