The caps are NGK LB05FP. Good to hear that they DO pull off!! I was afraid to put more than 10-12lb of pull on them in case I broke something. You're right - very different feel from the clip-on types. They should be very secure.

One way to make sure they never come off.

Wow - I was having trouble removing them! Fore sure yours will never come off.

This particular cap (LB01E) may not lock down as tightly as yours. Some of these caps snap down securely vertically but dance back and forth sideways loosely in the wind. Over time this could lead to loosening of the threaded tip.

I took Shannon's advice and purchased these much nicer caps which do in fact pop on very securely, but then I safety wired them on as Shannon's has suggested as a safety net. Why not? This method is fast, easy and will ensure I never have a cap come off in flight. Thanks Shannon!
