When is the oil drain plug used on a Rotax 185?
Thanks Art

Hi artman12us,
I have seen these drain plugs on other 2-cycle engines, and the only thing I found out is this. When a 2 cycle engine gets flooded in the crankcase (raw fuel in the crankcase) there is no way you will start a 2-cycle engine unless you get this raw fuel out. Just a matter of removing the drain plug to empty the crankcase, drying the spark plugs(or replacing them) installing the drain plug, and the engine should fire up. Usually if an engine floods too easy, then it's probably time to check out the carb. Daffy

Hi artman12us,
I suppose the drain plug could also be use for pressure testing the seals.
