As I was looking at my pod, how it was made came to me in a flash. I knew that the shape reminded me of something, and it finally hit me: a wheelbarrow!

There are a lot of styles and sizes out there, and I need to make a new one that is a few inches narrower than this one is to fit my skis. so I'll be hunting for one pretty soon.

A layer of plastic or mold release on the inside of the barrow, and a couple layers of glass plus reinforcement where required should give me a nice result in short order without having to go through all the trouble of making a mold!

My old pod works great, and a new one that is a little pointier on the nose should be just as good.

Just another idea.

Hi Karl, maybe Rob Kerr's plastic Tobaggan and Recumbent bike windshield concept should be revisited.

Man, I love flying with skis!

I was out last Monday, it was perfect. No wind and clear for miles. A bit chilly, -9 C, but with the pod it was fine. I toured around for over an hour, did a couple of touch and go's then went home. Barely two hours later, the urge got too strong, and I was back out again. I was doing circuits for another 45 minutes or so. What a great day. For those who haven't had the ski experience, it's something to plan for someday. Awesome!

Some details about how those snowboards worked out would be nice! How long and wide are they? I saw some on sale and was tempted to pick them up. A couple of close up shots of the tail skis would be nice too!

Wish I had some more free time. It seems every day the weather is calm, I'm working!
You're a lucky guy Brian.
Going to be -30 tomorrow! Almost Spring!
Hah!

Hi Shannon,

They look easy to do. I guess the clip at the tip is for a short bungee or cord?
Nice!

Hey Rob- any comments or stories about your set-up?
