Hi lazairkid,
Awesome! Almost ready for take-off! Lazairs take a little getting used to, on the ground. I kept my angle of the engines the same as before, so I am OK there. I get 6200rpm out of my engines full throttle and about 1150 degrees on the EGT. This is as high as I want to go, with the temperature. I don't have a head temperature guage. So, are those vw exhaust pipes working good for you? I sure like the way mine sound. I sure like the power too! And they run pretty smooth too.
Well, take your time getting into the air, play it safe and have fun! I did tons of hops before I took mine up, years ago. Daffy

Very nice Lazair, Lazairkid. I'm sure you're very eager to get off the ground. I'm curious about the trim tabs on the ruddervators. Did you put those on?

Trim tabs were all ready on there. I'll most likely have to adjust them
once I get airborne. There in a neutral position right now do to putting new
engines on. They may not even be needed.
The VW silencers work really good. I took then off and you can hear the
mufflers threw the wing, but with them on all I hear is the harmony of the
props

lazair kid, why not flip your backwards carb over? the engine won't know the difference....

To much trouble.
I then would have to flip my muffler to go on the other side to
I get time I'm just going to redo the plate the mounts are attached to
to level the engine up.
Other than that everything seems to be working good.....

no i just mean rotate the carb 180 degrees where it is - isn't it just two bolt holes on a symmetrical pattern?

i don't mean rotate the cylinder head :)

maybe you're moderated on comcast now? hAHAHAHHAA

Have you flown it yet tom? it must be exciting and yet hard to keep patience with the flight testing. Be sure you run your engines at full power for a good 5 minutes before taking to the skies, as any problem with the fuel system should present itself in those 5 minutes - you don't want it to show up after a 30second runup and 4.5 minutes into the circuit.

No Tyler
I have made around two runs up and down the runway. I have about 40 mins
on the engines so far. I'm steal trying to get the hang of it on the ground.
Ive worked on this thing for 5 years I'm in no hurry to get off the ground until
I'm ready....

P.S. Tyler, I well have an updated pic for your web page here shortly.
