I told unicom it was a wobbly landing and the ole bird should go south with the birds.
The first hop was 50' and it set down ok.

"I finally got uo in C-IIII

First time without windscreen and pod; could not notice any appreciable climb or handling.

New Halls works and shows maybe 5 mph more in cruise - its relative at moment.

Winds were reported low by unicom, BTW they do not give aloft; it was not too tricky up above.
It was gusting higher when I landed - I know because I got blown off the runway once...

Very rusty -everything came down in one piece and we hugged and kissed - except my lips nearly froze to the wing - it was around 3 deg C when I TO.

Hands were cold - may put my windscreen back on after South River jont.

My altimeter went squirrelly a few times, could be it was out from cover of windscreen and I was uncoordinated - it did settle down and so did I besides I can see the runway - VFR

After grading myself with about a three, it was a flight which has some merit.

Excellent!!! Nice job!! Now, get in the air as much as you can and the rust will go away and the confidence will build.

George is right, there is no substitute for time spent flying. Just be careful and pick the optimum conditions to fly in.

Glad to hear that your in the air. Be safe.
