Sorry, mis-spoke earlier. Said air bubbles, should have said vapor bubbles instead. Moot point however, your engines can't run while ingesting a quantity of vapor bubbles either.

aboute old rubber,you have to think like this,you are in a little african village there everybody have aids,do i want to use 20 year old rubber ?i don`t think so.
you can die both in your lazair or in africa !.

rubber is cheap ! buy new.

right on Ola, now to find a shop locally to do this.

Also, there was a pro-photographer out at the field the day i had my engine failures, and he got this shot of me on downwind with the first flameout at 300'...

here they are tyler,nicasil treated directly from uk.
and tyler....they have rings for the jpx !.
i have ordered a complete kit for two jpx.
i will let you know when they arrive.

over at daffys yesterday and we ripped apart the troubled engine. here is what we found after taking the prop and hub off... that's the front seal in two pieces!!!! we ripped apart the back (much harder) and replaced the rear seal too, but it was in much better shape. now to put it back on the wing with a new 40/17 prop and see what we see...
