If your wondering what to use for instrumentation for your Lazair I have
a suggestion.

Paraglider and Hanglider pilots use instruments that are very compact that tube mount or your leg mount.

The typically measure, Altitude, Airspeed, and rate of climb/sink via a variometer, and sometimes a host of other features depending on how much you want to spend.

Flight Instrument Pic $275 USD

I just bought a used one for $225 USD, but new they start new at $275.

There are brackets for them that suport the install of a portable GPS like a Garmin GPS12.

I dont think engine monitoring gear is necessary with the aircooled engines as much, plus you want to enjoy the view more, than look at your instruments.

What else are pilots using out there?
