I was looking at power pod options for my Monerai S Sailplane and discovered something new and cool....though a bit pricey still.

Check this link out: Micro turbines in action!

One of those turbines generates about 45lbs thrust, so a pair of those on a Lazair would be.....WOW.......and sound so cool.

Its fun to imagine the possibilities.....maybe when my Rotax's get old enough ;)

But for the Monerai......perfect!!! :D

Here are a couple more neat jet resources: Home made jets and kits! Lots of videos and info. This guys been in all kinds of trouble with his government over his homebuilt cruise missile project! A rather slick bunch of jets.

Unless you build one yourself, these things are expensive! Fuel usage is outrageous too! We don't even want to talk about the noise levels a Lazair would create with a couple of these things installed.

Of course, keeping your Tedlar shrunk up tight wouldn't be a problem!

If you take a close look at the video, you can see that he is controlling the turbines with a standard rc transmitter. Pretty cramped in that cockpit.
