The installation for the new wheels and brakes is now complete. So far, so good.

Another pic just after some taxi tests. Note the additional bracing for better support of the caliper assembly.

Are the pictures of the same wheel? It looks like different caliper mounts/brackets,did you have to buy the front and rear caliper package?

I ment to bring this up when the next brake job came up but your already done.

Anyway I was going to suggest that the next person try buying two front caliper's or two rear caliper's and maybe that would make fabricating a mounting bracket for the caliper a little easier.

OK . I see that they are a picture of each side - good work.

Looks great. Do you have the part numbers for the rims/tires, rotors, and calipers ? Also what if any modifications to the axle (or other things) are needed for the conversion ? How well do the brakes grab in wet grass... or is that yet to be tested ?

All great questions, Shannon. I'll go ahead and start a thread just for this mod.

Flight testing is going great on B034 and it now has 8 hours logged in the air.....power off stalls, pattern work in some healthy crosswinds, and even a few single engine landings. There are still a few minor items to tweak, but I am very satisfied with the plane. My wheel and mountain bike brake system is working out very nicely so far too.

However, I am considering putting it up for sale! I have my eye on another project that I want to get started on soon so I'll have to part with my baby. I will of course always be involved with Lazairs.....my brother's series III and I may even get one from a local EAA member.
