hey karl

i found my old lazair manual in north bay recently, and was reading the "lettairs"... in them they describe a brake kit for the series II as being "the same setup as for the lazair II". Seeing as the axle on the 2-seater and the series II is exactly the same, i don't see why they wouldn't work!

Tyler

PS: if you have the calipers, all you need is one bracket and I can send you a picture once i get home of what I made.

Good stuff Tyler,

I think I can manage one bracket! Are you in the area yet?

This should be the bracket that Tyler's talking about.

Hi Dave,

Sure, why not. Every detail helps out in the long run. Tyler says this installation is the company add-on brake for the series 2, and it is missing from the files, so a few more shots would be good.

Perhaps from directly behind, ditto in front, the side with wheel removed would be great too, and one from below. That gives all the views needed for a new installation.

Tyler, is your plane set up the same, or did you design a different brkt?

Thanks,
Karl p.s. if anyone has the add-on brake instructions, send them in!

I'll take all the pics that I can. I'm not to sure about taking the wheel off though. The Lazair II is definitely not "change a wheel or tire friendly", but I'll do my best.

I'll also look at the manual because there may be a good picture or infor there.

Off to work...
Dave

Hi Dave,

I forgot how much work a tire job on that is! I remember Tyler cursing over that one.

If there are any location dimensions given in the manual, or pictures, maybe scanning those pertinent pages would be good too.

The caliper attachment plate probably needs to be measured as well. A simple drawing done in windows paint program.

The closer all the info get to at least 3 views, the better and easier it is to reproduce.

Again, if anyone out there has the instructions for the add-on brake kit, please send it in.

Cheers,
Karl
