G'day, i added wheels to my engine test rig and fitted a scale and both engines produced about 33lbs of thrust. considering the age of the engines this seemed pretty close to the 35lbs or so some have mentioned. regards Ozzie

Ozzie,

Your test results confirm what I've quoted to all those who see the Lazair for the first time and nearly always ask, "you can actually fly that thing with those tiny engines?". Thanks for posting that information.

and chappy, this number increases to about 50pounds with redrives? that's a pretty good improvement! almost 50%!

Just a fuel burn question - how much do the pioneers consume per hour?

Tyler, been too long ago, but I think I was getting about 40 to 45 minutes. That's without the redrives. I'll know for sure shortly because I just got my plane to the grass strip that I'm going to be flying out of and plan to give it it's first flight in 18 years.

how about a scale V8 instead of pioneers?
