Why aren't the load bearing ribs R3 both left and right made of aluminum since they (at least to my way of thinking) are so critical being the ailerons bear on them so much.

The reason I ask this is my right wing was damaged by the previous owner and the R3 is crinkled at that point. I believe if you seen this plane on ebay (last one sold for 999.00) then you would have seen the rib in question in the pics put on the site by the seller.

Good question but ALum rib would be of no gain.

Your spar looks like it might be bent there.

Tyler actually gave me the info to do this R-3 mod, and so in the build it went. The Trailing edge mod was an idea I had to stiffen and clean up the trailing edge. I like the idea of both of these, but if you hit the wing hard enough it's going to bend regardless.

Let me know if you need spar box parts as I have those available for your repair.
