Hi Folks,

I bought a suburban in new york state, and am bringing it back to Alberta this week myself. rather than drive back empty, if anyone has any cool lazair stuff they're willing to part with between waterloo, NY and Edmonton, AB let me know as i can transport it for "free" :)

And, if anyone has anything THEY want moved, let me know because i'd hate to make the return trip empty. I'll be crossing the border in buffalo, and going through the soo and thunder bay, winnipeg, etc....

Looking specifically for engines, props, fuse parts, rolls of tedlar, tuned pipes, redrives, anything you have laying around you want to sell :)

Edmonton, AB

Hello Tyler...Yes I'll take you up on your offer! I'll take 2 rolls of Tedlar and if you can scoot down to Thomas's place in SC. I'll pay you handsomely for the trip! B)...I'm never knows when his boat is coming in.
Tyler..I picked up that Lazair of Wayne Van Beek in Airdrie yesterday - Sat. It had to be the coldest day of the year...-28 and a breeze to boot, total torture loading into a enclosed trailer! Go figure...
It is a Series 1 with up graded wings and 185's. Has castering rear wheels, Series 3 factor up grade seat and undercarriage;can't remember the rest. Serial no. A55...ident. that makes 4 Lazairs in my stable now and if you would haul the Elite up for me, well....what more can I say? Thanks in advance Jim :P

interesting plan, but just slightly undoable for me. i only have 2 days to drive back, and the extra 12 hours to get to SC are out of the question.

Does Tom have a trailer for it? Could he meet me part way? can we get the customs paperwork done by tuesday? could he meet me in pittsburgh or something?

i will continue to entertain this idea until it is ruled out.

Thanks for your reply Tyler! I am going to call Thomas..I don't know about his end re meeting you with the goodies  I can make all the rest happen..have done this sorta thing before.
Are you sure you want to haul a light trailer in the winter this distance? IF you do and you want me to meet you in which ever province you are crossing, is that possible?? I am going to call Thomas...this could be interesting  I've done crazier things B) JIM

Hey JOE thanks for the call...
Got your pic's of trailer and rigging ....looks good!
My problems are the distance to haul on a open trailer and the timing to pull everything together.
The Lazair would have to be loaded and delivered to meet Tyler at somewhere close to where he is picking up his vehicle
and so as not to hold Tyler up, it would have to be like Wed. morning!
That's quite a push to have everyone go through for my benefit!

Joe, I'm sending pix of how I hauled my Glasair Sportsman from Arlington WA to Lethbridge Ab.Can. back in Oct. 2007.
If there was the time and opportunity I would buy your trailer(and include 2 spinners) and cover the whole unit like this and Bob's your uncle...

my timeline is i am leaving waterloo, NY at about 10am on THURSDAY morning, and i have to get to Yorkton, SK by Saturday morning at 10am. So I have 48hours. I can drive pretty long hauls, and have towed lots of trailers lots of places in lots of weather.

Jim, you pull it together and i'll pull it for you. I figure its about 30 hours driving going straight from waterloo to yorkton, so i have about 10 hours available to go pick something up. 5 hours down, 5 hours back, and due to customs on my truck i MUST cross in buffalo, lewiston bridge. if you can arrage a Uhaul rental of a flat deck car trailer that would probably suffice as well. tie it down all nicey nice, cover it in some kind of wrap, and we're good to go.

Hey Joe
...Thats a heck of a takes a lot of patience on deals like your trip. The cover on my Sportsman aircraft is like Tedlar and comes in rolls 12ft. wide(folded) then you need a large heat gun and special tape and shrink it in place while on the trailer. The timing on this is very tight...and it does'nt look like we have a means to hook up with Tyler in Buffalo? I am not giving up ...I'll keep trying Jim

Hey Tyler..
Are you all set to lift off for the big hike tomorrow?
Thanks for your awesome offer..I do appreciate but I'm going to have to pull my horns in for now :(
I'll still take two rolls of Tedlar if you come across a truck load of the good stuff!
I'm sure there is a line up ahead of me ? Anyway, have a safe trip and we will talk when you're home again
