Art,
Pass a magnet around your flywheel, you'll find there are two norths and two souths from four magnets. I know it defies conventional thinking but check it, it is true. It takes a north and a south magnet to complete an AC wave, each complete wave fires one spark approximatly at the peak of the negative wave. Two sparks per revolution from four magnets.

Thanks for the reply. Makes perfect sense. Did you ever get the info you needed for the "cheap conversion"?

Yea, I got a response from Ray, I've got CDI modules sorted and now I should be able to get the right sized ignitor coils. My 377 conversion worked well for a little under us$200 so two 185's should be the same. Down with points, CDI away!!!

Please keep us posted if you have an aftermarket CDI that actually works. With the rising cost of the Wildfire version, we need all the help we can get on this subject.

I'm getting more CDI systems, and as long as I get enough for about eight engines they should be under us$100 delivered, I only need CDI's the 185 ignitor coils I don't use so I don't have a firm price for yet. I haven't confirmed 12v lighting coils yet but if he makes them that will help to fill up the min. order.
