I bit the bullet and sent an email to the Preditor people in Germany as their webdite said they had dealt with man carrying flight before. i gave them as much info on the Lazair as i thought they needed and recieved this reply. i assume the pitch on our props is 14"
with a Predator at 12s lipos and a 28,5x12" Rasa CFK Prop you will have a thrust of approx 24 Kg.
This means a load voltage of approx 43V and a current of approx 150A at 5600 rpm
With your 28x14" the trust will be a bit lower and the current a bit higher.
You have to pay special attention to the cooling of the motor.
No warranty / liability by the use of the Xtra-, Terminator- and Predator-motors on devices for the transportation of persons.
When using a fixed propeller suffizient cooling , insinde the motor, must be provided.
Best regards

So that seems promising. at least they are willing to play.
Here is another type of motor(s) from Hackett the C50 quad and available as a twin.= to 120/150cc engines swings a 30x10 or 12 inch props wieghs 2.5kg But way expensive $3250au for the quad and $2000 for the twin.
It is a toss up between sitting back and wait 6mths and see what our paragliding friend comes up with. or keep going and throw some hard earned 'readys' on the counter and hope it doesn't end in tears.
