Jury Strut Kit fabrication

Today I made two sets of jury strut kits. I had one factory kit and used the drawings here to help fabricate the other two. The hardest part was the .090 brackets for the jury/lift strut mating.

I also noticed that the prints on this site list one of the brackets as .040 but the factory kit i've got has it made from .060....

I've got most of one of my wings stripped and a second to go..been to busy with kids and family. I found using a wire wheel on a drill is good for taking off the foam and gentle application of acetone with a scotchbrite pad makes quick work of the adhesives, being careful not to spill a drop.

I tried goo gone but it was very slow in softening the adhesives.

Tomorrow I'll rebuild a couple of my carbs at work. I need to get hold of 4 more rebuild kits. Will check the local small engine places...

I'm curious what material Tyler used for the stiffener from the spar box to the engine mounts. I'm thinking .032 or .040 would be appropriate...any suggestions??

I think you are thinking of George's wings with the extra plate from the spar box to the first rib. this also serves as the plate for which the 'long bolt' modification is incorporated.

I've added a pic of this spar box mod to my folder in the Yahoo group photo section in the George C. folder.
